Ran today - 5.02 miles. It felt good. I'm still slow, I've got to work on the time but the training I'm doing for my half marathon is building endurance so speed will come.
My hip feels better. I'm icing it right now and I'll go take my ibuprofen when I eat. It will be nice to have this under control.
Weight. Weight. Weight. I'm up almost 4.5 pounds. I need another pair of eyes. I've looked at what I've eaten the past 2 weeks and nothing jumps out and says, "Whoa... there's the problem!" Really. I've been doing this long enough I would know. I also missed out on something good! I really think that the stress and anxiety the past week is a huge contributor!
Update!!!
Okay, so I've been going over my tracking trying to figure out what happened. I'll tell ya what, if you think you've gone back far enough, um... you haven't. I made cinnamon rolls for my family while I was gone last weekend. I ate one as I walked out the door. When I got home Saturday night I had two more for dinner. Sunday morning... you guessed! A cinnamon roll for breakfast. Holy carb overload and weight gain. I'm feeling a little better about life. By the way, I did track every bite. It goes to show that power foods are the way to go!
I will step on the scales tomorrow. The number won't be pretty. It's okay. I know why:) Next week will be so much better!
congrats on the run! i hear speed will come with time but i too am a super slow runner, but then no run at all.
ReplyDeleteWhat training program are you using for your half marathon? I just signed up for my first half this morning, and am trying to decide where to start. I have looked at Hal Higdon, but no others.
ReplyDeleteYup, this is my first ever. I am very impressed that you are doing speed training in addition to simply training on your first half marathon - at this point I am just aiming to finish! But maybe as I train, I will find that I want to speed up - let's hope so!
