So Seth - You got me thinking. As I look at my blog, it is all about weight loss. All of my goals, what I've achieved - it's all about weight. Now, after reading Seth's entry I'm thinking, yeah weight loss is good, but really it's turned into something else. Fitness.
It is about be fit. It's about running and enjoying it. Achieving something. It's about running with my kids. Hiking with my kids. Chasing my kids. It's about doing. It's active. It's getting off the sidelines and doing.
Throughout my blog I've used the phrase, "I can do hard things!" It's posted in the front of the room at Weight Watchers. Melanie - I've seen it on your blog too. It my mantra. I can. I will.
Time to get moving and get the day done. Can I just tell you that I felt great all day. My steps are lighter. My mood is lighter. The emotional, physical and mental benefits from being fit and achieving fitness can't be numbered.
Maybe it is about more than even fitness. Maybe it is about self control; about being in control of your decisions and your life. It is about not being a victim of your circumstances, but the designer of your destiny. It is about knowing you, understanding you, and loving you. It is wonderful, exciting, scary, threatening, it is everything all rolled up in one. But, once you have control of yourself, you can turn your attention to others. Isn't it wonderful.
