Something in my head is telling me that I don't want to run. It makes my body hurt and the first half mile is always hard. I need to remind my head how good I really do feel when I'm done. I am sore the next day. My shins hurt - not like shin splints but the muscle on the front and outside.
I am going to run tomorrow.
I am.
Why?
Because - I CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Sometimes, walking with your husband is better than running. Getting him and the family involved is very important with this whole journey.
ReplyDeleteRunning in the snow is sometimes easier than running in the rain. It usually doesn't soak you quite as much. When it is cold, the rain can freeze you out.
Could be shin splints,is it right where the muscle attaches to the bone. I think you should ice them when you finish running, and maybe consider compression socks. Might make them feel better. I have the head thing all the time, my old self wants to take over. Sometimes I let it. Just remember, after that first ten minutes or so, it gets easier.
Marathon-maybe in October in Layton. I am doing the Spudman (olympic triathlon) the end of July. I may do a 1/2 ironman in September. I love triathlons. (Sorry, I thing I posted more on your site than you did.) Have a great run tomorrow, You can do hard things. Favorite quote by Pres. Monson from the Twin Falls temple dedication: Decisions Determine Destiny. You determine your destiny! Run tomorrow.
