So I did my long run today, seven miles. My longest run in about three months. It wasn't bad. I went slow and felt pretty good the whole way. I was only going to do six but I had the time, felt good and seven was on my schedule.

My body is messed up. I really don't know what has done it. I'm going to lay off the protein shakes for a week and see if that makes a difference. I don't have to weigh in this week so that takes the pressure off. I can just focus on behaviors. Getting my activity points in, drinking lots of water, and eating right. I didn't think that I had a bad eating Christmas but I guess it wasn't that great. Weird. I learn something new everyday on my journey. Everyday!

I had a lot of time to think while I was running. I know that for my first marathon I should just focus on finishing - no time goal. I can't help thinking about how long it will take me. Almost 5 hours. I would really like to close to four and a half. Maybe there's a formula out there that will help me figure this out. I know that I'll get stronger and faster as I get closer. Things to ponder.
