I needed to run this morning because I usually run the morning that I weigh in. I switched my weigh in to Saturday so I could begin attending the meetings again. Any way - I was going to run around here and decided to just run down to my meeting again. It wasn't bad - 3.9 miles. Two miles was down hill which was a nice change - when I got to State Street it leveled out again. I ran on the sidewalk for part of the last 2 miles and the other part I ran on the side of the road - not so great. Thankfully it wasn't busy so I could run on the paved part instead of the gravel.
Weigh in was good. Down 1.6 pounds. I'm very thankful for the loss:) My leader asked where I had run from - I told her - she asked how many miles - I told her - she said,"Molly- you're a runner!" She asked why I liked it - I said, "I hate the first mile but after that it's fun. I love it"
During the meeting she asked us to think of one word that comes to our mind when we think of exercise. Every comment was negative - the word that came to my head --- FREEDOM. Running gives me freedom. I'm free from the body that trapped me for so long. I'm free from illness. I'm free from a body who supported two hundred plus pounds for years. I'm free from the world - for an hour a day - I'm only exposed to my thoughts. I'm free. Exercise = Freedom.
At the end of class I got a 5 pound star -- 45 pounds GONE!!! Yeah. The girl next to me leaned over and said, "You are very motivating to me!" I talked to her and another lady on the way out about running and what races and how far I run.
