So what was my decision? I got up. Got dressed. Got running. I had a new route I wanted to try. It wasn't bad but too much was down hill. It felt really good though.
This week, I don't want any runs in the 2 mile range. I want them all to be over 3 miles. I want my long run this week to be over 4 miles - down the canal to the 3 flag poles and back. I can do this. Today I could have run longer. I felt really good. The only problem was where? I was close to home so I would either have to go uphill or downhill. I would have really liked another long stretch of level road. What a wimp I am!
Funny - my neck can move a lot more now. See how good running is for your body! I didn't even run on my neck and it feels better!
I just mapped my route - 3.3459 miles , time 41:47. Whoa. The time is not impressive. That's the slowest time in awhile. UM...
I felt good the whole way, I did run up a hill .4 miles, did that really hamper my time that much? Was my last mile really that slow? Yes, I think after the hill I slowed way down. I've got to focus on that last mile. A friend said to count the number of steps taken in a minute period and then try to increase that throughout the run. I think I'll try that tomorrow or Thursday.
I believe running can help keep sickness at bay. I worked at a health club one time and a lady would come in and sit in the steam room when she started to feel sick, said it would sweat the bug out. I thought she was crazy. Now, if I feel sick, I go work out and sweat, and I feel better. Could be something to it.
