Week 4 of 5K training. I looked at what I had to run this week and felt a little overwhelmed. Instead of giving up - which could have happened in the past, I got up and did it. I did sleep in until 6:30- felt good. This was the most running I've done in about 3 years. It was labored at first. After the 5 minute run the first time I felt pretty good. I was slow so speed needs to be an issue that I work on. Right now I'm going to focus on running the time specified. As I progress and build endurance then I'll work on speed. I know that I want to run at least a 12 minute mile. Too slow? Too fast? I guess we'll see.
This was a tough weekend. I had family come down and it was so great to be with them. Problem is 3 peanut butter bars and 1 ice cream cone later, I'm feeling gross. Yesterday I spent the day with my entire family. How fun! It's not often that we all can get together. I felt pretty good. I didn't have any control over what there was to eat, I did have control over what I did eat - I did focus on the veggies and fruit with my sandwich for lunch. No wheat bread, only white and only regular mayo. For dinner we had hamburgers and hot dogs. I knew a hot dog and bun were 7 points so I had that. There was also a fantastic green salad - had craisin in it = oh so good. I also loaded up on veggies here. There was pasta and potato salad and I had a small spoonful of these. Dessert was pie and yes - I had a piece. It was so good. I also had a cookie.
I am learning that I am an all or nothing. Probably better not to taste it at all. No sugar is easier to stick to that trying to decide which sugar I want to try. Here goes another great sunny week. Can't wait to get outside and work.
I have 1.2 pounds to hit my 10% goal. I'm not going to get on the scale this week. I'm going to focus on behaviors and get my exercise in - going to have a great week!
Just a note - I have lost this same 25 pounds so many times. After this, I'm in uncharted waters. I haven't been in the 220s for years. This is poundage that is new territory. My next 5 pound goal will take me there. Um......
