I got my run in today before the starts. It did feel good to be outside. It rained just enough to make it smell like rain - yum. Loved it. I was slower today. I think the first run is always the best. The second run, a bit achy and a little slower. Since Monday my joints have hurt and my plantar fasciitis has been worse. I have been taking Aleve and icing my foot - feels so much better Tuesday. My heel has hurt since my little girl was born. Pregnancy does funny things to a body. I thought it was something to live with and as I lost weight it would go away. Well, it's almost been a year and it hasn't gone away and Monday I could barely walk. I decided I should go see the doctor. Called my insurance to see what podiatrist was on it, looked up the one they told me, and thought about calling. He actually had a website and has several blogs. One blog is dedicated to plantar fasciitis. He recommended a few things before coming to his office. I tried them - taking an anti-inflammatory, freezing a water bottle and icing my arch and heel and some great stretches. Yesterday I was pain free. Pain free - did you hear that? For the first time in 9 months. I found that I walk funny to compensate for my heel. As soon as I got home today I iced it and took an Aleve. We'll see how today goes - thinking already it's good.
Whoa.... long post. So I'm hoping I make my two pound loss this week. I've been doing okay on the eating. Breakfast hasn't been sounding good so I've had veggie crisps and dip - not the breakfast of champions. Today, I'm looking forward to a bowl of strawberries and Crispix and getting back on the breakfast path. Have a great Wednesday!!
