Week 2 Day 2

I didn't realize how much posting here helps keep me on track.  I'm glad that I have this.  It's a nice place to go.

Today I had a nice run.  It was intervals day.  Today I was faster and felt better than my long run on Saturday.  I'm glad.  I want to be faster.  That's one of my goals for Red Rock.  I will be about eight weeks into Body for Life and I want to see changes in my body at that time.  I want my clothes to fit better at that time.  I also want to be faster. I want to be at a 10:00 mile.  I know that doesn't seem fast but it would be significant to me.  We'll see how the hill training goes.  A 10:30 miles might be more realistic only 8 weeks out.

I went to a birthday party last night.  I had eaten dinner, wasn't hungry and went with the mindset of "I'm not eating the cake".  Well.... I ate the cake....and the ice cream...and....a brownie.  It was good.  It was worth it at the time.

Why do I give in now and ignore what I'm working on in the long term?  How do you stay strong at events with food?  Everything in my life seems to center around food.

Tomorrow is Pioneer day.  We're invited to a BBQ.  I can control this because I'll provide food that's okay for me.  I know they're having Dutch oven turkey breast so I know I'll be okay with the protein.  Planning.  That's the secret.  Sticking to the planning is key.
