It's the most wonderful time of the year! Really? It is wonderful don't get me wrong. I love Christmas time. I do. This year has been really hard. I didn't think I would struggle. I had my goals. I had a plan. I haven't lost but I haven't really gained either. Just stayed the same.

I haven't done any holiday baking. None. If I make it - I will eat it. Yesterday friends started bring holiday goodies over. A treat that I can't resist - Joe's Egg Nog Cookies. I had 2. So good. My running friend gave me lemon poppy seed cakes - two little cute cakes. I had both. Another friend makes the best peanut brittle - I had .8 oz - yes, I got out my scale and weighed it. Another plate of cookies was delivered - I just kept the clear wrap over the top and I will let my kids have them tomorrow.

There are so many smells and tastes of the season. So many temptations. I will let myself have somethings - things that truly only come one time a year. Like Joe's Egg Nog Cookies. They are gone - my kids like them too. I am safe.

I am traveling this weekend. This poses a problem. Planning. I am going shopping this morning. I am loading up on veggies and fruit. That should carry me through. Um. Maybe I'll go shopping now. It's early and then I will avoid the rush. Merry Christmas!
