My run today was great. I always take a one minute walk break. It started at the 8 min mark, then 10 min mark, and then after a mile. Last week I started taking it after 2 miles and I felt great. Today at the 2 mile mark I felt awesome, my pace was quick --- I just kept running. Today I set a new PR for a 5K - 33:15! Yeah. Total for the run - 4.21 miles, 10'56"/mi in 46:06 minutes.
Something funny - in September/October my hips were hurting. Especially after sitting on the day of a run. I got new shoes and it seemed to rectify the situation. I ordered a pair of new shoes, Brooks Launch, which are the same as I had in the summer. Loved them. I ran in them last week and my hip pain is back. I'm bummed. I love the Brooks. Today I ran in my Saucony. No hip pain. Um.
My positive attitude is slipping this week. It is the week before my Auntie visits. I have noticed that week is really hard. Mentally I seem to check out. I will be on top of it this time.
The new WW has thrown me a curve. While people who had 18 points get a minimum of 29 points - I only get 3 more points a day now so I'm at 32. With the increase in the points of everything else - it is a struggle to stay within my daily points. I know that I have the extra 49 points each week. I have been using them. I just think (maybe that's the problem - thinking) I need to stay out of those flex points in order to lose. We'll see. Merry Christmas and have a great snowy day!
