Running today was necessary and it was okay. Breathing is just a challenge - scratchy and irritating. I only did 3.24 miles - slow but done. I love running. I think back to high school and I never pushed myself. I often gave up. A mile would have killed me. In fact, I remember running a mile once - I walked most of it. I even remember faking an ankle sprain to get out of a mile. I love the change. I love running.
Last night I attended an awards banquet with my husband. I was a little nervous about the food. I had no idea what was being served. I ate a banana before I left and had some water. I knew I would be safe with veggies and fruit. It turned out pretty good - the salad was just baby greens, blue cheese chunks, candied walnuts, a strawberry and the salad dressing. I just put one spoonful of dressing on and ate everything but the candied walnuts. The blue cheese was a yummy surprise. The main course - white rice with veggies in it, salmon and fillet mignon on a bed of veggies. The salmon was good, maybe teriyaki -couldn't tell on the sauce. I ate the rice and the veggies and gave the steak to my husband. Dessert -- couldn't tell. Chocolate cheesecake? It had a chocolate and raspberry sauce and 3 big raspberries on the side. I tried it and ate almost half. I love that I didn't eat it all. It really was take it or leave it. Over all - good meal, I tracked everything - used some of my flex points but did good!
