I am alive. Just a funny week. I feel like my days are just packed and I haven't been able to check in. I did run Monday, felt yucky Tuesday and ran this morning.

This morning's run was great. I ran with my friend who was doing her long run. She had 11 to do and I just did 5 miles. I loved the pace and I loved how fast it went. Conversation is amazing!

Eating is going well. I'm trying to be down again this week. I know I haven't entered my weight from Saturday. I was down. It felt great. I want to be down again on Saturday. I am really focusing on my eating. Focusing on protein and making every point count.

Side note - the Super Bowl and our party was fun. I really felt good about the food choices that we had. I felt great afterwards. I did enjoy some M&Ms but hey, it's okay.

Morgan, when I have time I will try to get to My 11! Sounds fun to do and is something light to think about.

I'm reading a book right now called "Programmed to Run". I believe the author is Thomas Miller. He's a local runner who's been running for YEARS. I love how he talks about is passion for running. He is a firm believer on running form, your mental planning and breathing. I haven't finished it but I really am intrigued. I'm enjoying running right now. I love what it does for me. I love how I feel. I love the confidence that it gives me --- that I'm giving myself. Life is good.

A good friend of mine just had a brain tumor removed. She was running Friday and had surgery on Saturday. Yesterday, she was doing her best to walk two laps around the nurses station. Modern medicine is amazing. She should recover fully. Our bodies are just as amazing. She is in fabulous shape and her body will be back to normal before she know it. I decided that until she's running again - my miles are for her. When I don't think I can do it, all I have to do is think about what she's going through.

Have a great day. Enjoy the body you have and the one that you are working towards! Anything is possible!

  1. Lots of positive things going on in your life/mind - wonderful! And now I am interested in this book you are reading - I just put it on reserve at my library. I think I need to read more books on running. I'd really like to read some by people who weren't naturals at it - who hated it sometimes and eventually got better...because that is how I feel!
