So after a great PT session yesterday, I had to go run today. I had to see how I was feeling. It was good. My breathing took a mile or so to get going but my legs felt great. My IT band felt okay - I did feel it in my knee but I focused on my running, arms, bent not upright, and feet rolled out a little. My knee did feel some improvement when I focused on my feet. I'm wondering if I should find some orthotics before Saturday. Having never run 13 miles in them before I think I'll opt out on that.
Not Wasting A Day -- the mantra that has carried me through so many months of my journey. I started looking over the past month and I have wasted so many days. Why is it so hard to focus and push through to the end?

One big reason is staring me in the face. Accountability. Who have I been accountable to over the past month? No one. I haven't weighed in for almost a month. Shame on me. Time to face the music and get on the scales. I think for me to be accountable, I'm going to change my weigh in date to Tuesdays. Traveling and my long runs have killed my weigh in days. Wow. What a simple answer to a huge problem. Thanks self for taking a little time for you and figuring this out!

  1. Hey - thanks for commenting! I run in the mornings, but there has been a temperature increase here in California in the last week, so while all my training so far has been in the cooler mornings, these last two were in warmer temps. Not hot, but there was definitely a difference. Is it bad that I am really hoping this is a major reason why I am having so much trouble?

    I don't have big IT band trouble yet, but I definitely feel it when I run 3 miles or more. Do you have any specific stretches or techniques that have worked for you? I also went to the running store and had a guy watch my gait and recommend shoes, and I have loved them thus far - it is just this week that is causing me grief!

    I am so glad that your run today was better! I am praying and hoping for you to have a really great run on Saturday!
