I ran on Monday and Wednesday. Both days I felt great. Wednesday I ran with a friend and just chatted the whole time. Loved it.
Today, a group of us got together. We started up Provo Canyon at Vivian Park. I love running down this canyon. Love it! Today was no exception. Most of the group ran faster and I ran with my friend. They ran down to Utah Lake, we ran to Harmon's where she was done with her 7 - I ran home. I was hoping to get in 12-13 miles. I felt so good that I ran down Locust to the Rec Center and ran around the track to get some more miles in then ran home. I am still feeling great. This makes me want to try and focus on the marathon. My feet still tingled and were numb but I walked and switched out inserts half way. I fueled and hydrated really good yesterday. Today I fuel and hydrated all along the way. Just a great run! I ended with 15 miles. Wahoo!
Yesterday I emailed the marathon I'm running in June. I was going to transfer to the half marathon last night. When I got on their website to transfer it was down (is that a sign?). I knew that the half spots were filling up so I emailed them asking what my options were and telling that because of an injury I needed to switch to the half. They are just too efficient. After my run today, I just kept thinking I COULD do the marathon. It would be hard but not impossible. I still had time left. I checked my email when I got home - the marathon guy had responded and switched me over to the half. I have very mixed feelings here. In a way its a relief. In another way, it's a really BIG let down. Something mentally tells me that I'm quitting. Um.
Way to go! I was itching to go for a run for the first time in a long time this morning, and couldn't because of other things we had going on. But I am excited that I even felt like it!
ReplyDeleteSide note - do you live in Pleasant Grove? I only ask because you were talking about running down Locust, and my hubby's aunt lives off of Locust. Not that there couldn't be more than one street named Locust in Utah ;)
